Answering customer needs for Coriolis meters that will fit into smaller spaces,
Emerson’s Micro Motion® Coriolis offerings continue to shrink in size
Emerson Process Management has done it again. First it reduced Coriolis transmitters to one-third the size with its new Micro Motion® 2500 Coriolis transmitter. Then it enabled OEMs to eliminate transmitters altogether with its new Micro Motion Direct Connect™ technology that integrates a Micro Motion Coriolis sensor directly into a PLC or DCS using Modbus® communications. And now, with the addition of a 3-inch Micro Motion F-Series meter, Emerson continues this trend to save valuable space on skids and in plants by expanding its line of compact Micro Motion F-Series Coriolis meters.
The Micro Motion F-Series product line has mass flow accuracy up to 0.15%. Emerson has transformed its entire Micro Motion F-Series product line to a significantly more compact design. At the same time, it has increased the temperature rating to 356 °F (180 °C) and added customer-valued options such as secondary containment and optional improved accuracy.
With the addition of the new 3-inch Micro Motion F-Series meter, Emerson offers the broadest selection of 3-inch size Coriolis meters from which to choose. Whether process control and measurement professionals seek the highest accuracy, versatility, and range possible (Micro Motion ELITE CMF300), a hygienic meter (Micro Motion H300), or a compact style (the new Micro Motion F300), Micro Motion meters offer the best solution in the 3-inch line size.
Compared to traditional volumetric and other Coriolis meters, Micro Motion F-Series meters provide value in the form of accuracy and reliability over wide flow ranges and under varying fluid conditions in a compact, economical package. With a maximum flow rate of 10,000 lb/min (272,000 kg/hr), Micro Motion F300 meters are ideal for chemical, oil, gas, food and beverage applications including:
· Gas flow measurement in units of mass
· Pipe racks, skids, and truck mounted applications with space constraints
· Truck mounted cement density measurement where reliability and space are primary concerns
· Dealing with the varying fluid conditions of empty-to-empty batch measurements
· Keeping down pumping costs in viscous fluid measurement such as corn syrup, meat slurries, starches, and confectionaries
· Providing accurate load out of edible fats and oils
Micro Motion F-Series flow meters are now available in five sizes: ¼-inch, ½-inch, 1-inch, 2-inch and 3-inch. These meters offer optional secondary containment and a variety of process connection options to fit virtually any application. They have either integral transmitter mounting or easy four-wire remote transmitter mounting with local display. These meters are available with milliamp and frequency/pulse outputs, plus HART®, FOUNDATION™ fieldbus and Profibus® communications protocols.
The broader application range of the improved Micro Motion F-Series flowmeters expands the use of their accuracy and precision to power Emerson’s PlantWeb® digital plant architecture to improve manufacturing quality. Additionally, the online monitoring and diagnostics of the Micro Motion F-Series meters provide predictive process and flow meter health information that PlantWeb delivers to those running the plant, enabling more efficient scheduled and proactive maintenance.
